Marguerite Fitzgerald, president of Majestic Princess’ parent company, Carnival Australia, said all cases had been asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic and people had been warned to stay away from public places, the Guardian reported. The ship’s docking commemorated the arrival of the Ruby Princess in Sydney in March 2020 – at the start of the Australian pandemic – with 28 deaths and over 600 infections. The incident led to a state commission of inquiry and class action lawsuit against the operator.
