A suspect threw an arsonist at the garage door of an apartment building in the Mercier – Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighborhood of Montreal on Saturday night.
The 911 call was placed around 12:45 a.m. Sunday morning and reported a fire on Rosemont Boulevard near Repentigny Avenue, according to Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) spokeswoman Caroline Chevrefils.
The suspect is said to have thrown an incendiary object at the garage door before fleeing.
Witnesses were heard and the investigation was transferred to the SPVM’s Arson Division.
No injuries were reported, but there was significant damage to the garage door.
The investigations are ongoing.
