Long separated from her husband Prince Albert and their children after months of health problems, Princess Charlene of Monaco celebrated Easter with her family.

On Sunday, the Monaco Palace released a portrait of the prince and princess with 7-year-old twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, along with a bunny and a basket for the holidays.

“Happy Easter,” Charlene, 44, captioned the family photo on her Instagram account.

Another photo shows the family at the Easter service in the château’s private chapel with Père Penzo, the château’s chaplain.

PRINCE ALBERT OF MONACO TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19 FOR A SECOND TIME

The photo was released hours after Albert was released from quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19 a second time. The 64-year-old was spotted at the Monte Carlo Masters tennis final.

“Having just been diagnosed negative on a PCR COVID-19 screening test, HSH Prince Albert II is only able to resume all of his activities today,” said a statement from the Palace sent to Fox News Digital. “In accordance with current health regulations, after HSH the Prince tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago and despite being asymptomatic, he has had to self-isolate and be in constant touch with members of his cabinet, including his government, from the Working remotely as with His close companions.”

While Charlene returned to Monaco in early March, she has not been seen in public and has not resumed her official functions.

“Due to Princess Charlene’s encouraging recovery and the approval of her doctors, Their Serene Highnesses are pleased to announce that the Princess will now continue her recovery in the Principality, with her husband and children by her side,” the statement said explanation of their arrival.

“As a result, Princess Charlene has already returned to Monaco where she has been happily reunited with her family and loved ones,” she shared. “The next few weeks should allow Princess Charlene to continue to strengthen her health before gradually resuming her official duties and engagements.”

“As soon as her health is strong enough, the princess looks forward to spending time with the Monegasque people again and socializing,” the message continues. “Therefore, in order for Princess Charlene to make a full recovery and for her continued need for rest and peace, the royal couple are asking that her privacy and family environment continue to be respected.”

The statement said the couple were “pleased” to share the news. The announcement was also unveiled on Albert’s 64th birthday.

Last May, the princess fell ill during a planned 10-day visit to her native South Africa. Instead, Charlene was grounded for six months due to complications from a previous ENT procedure.

After several corrective surgeries and a subsequent relapse, Charlene returned to Monaco in November. However, shortly after landing, the princess began to feel signs of emotional and physical exhaustion. After consulting with her doctors and family, Charlene decided to seek medical treatment. Ultimately, it was decided that Charlene would seek treatment at a facility outside of Monaco. Reports have speculated that the facility was in Switzerland.

Throughout her health journey, Charlene has stayed close to her family through daily phone and video calls, People Magazine reported. The outlet noted that at least one family visit took place during the holidays and that Albert has privately visited his wife several times since then.

In September, Albert slammed rumors spread by tabloids that the marriage was in trouble.

“She didn’t leave Monaco upset!” he told the outlet at the time. “She didn’t leave because she was mad at me or anyone. She wanted to go down to South Africa to reconsider the work of her foundation and to take a little break with her brother and some friends.”

“It was only supposed to be a week-long stay of 10 days maximum, and [she is still there now] because she had this infection [and] All these medical complications happened,” Albert shared at the time. “She didn’t go into exile. It was absolutely just a medical issue that needed treatment.”

Albert admitted he “probably should have addressed the gossip sooner.”

“But I was focused on taking care of the kids,” he said. “And I thought it would probably work [away]. You know, if you’re trying to answer everything that comes out, you’re constantly [responding], you’re wasting your time… Of course it affects her, of course it affects me. Misinterpreting events is always harmful… We’re an easy target, easy to hit because we’re in the public eye a lot.”

The celebrated athlete married the prince on July 1, 2011. The wedding was a spectacle and cost an estimated $70 million for the four-day event. They welcomed twins in 2014.

Her planned public anniversary celebration was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
