It was to be a day of celebration and joy, with many families, children and the elderly gathering. But a minority who also wore the Flamengo shirt decided to ruin everything. There were shots, flash bombs, a lot of running, punches and kicks, thefts and a negative balance of more than 30 injuries initially without seriousness. In addition, several downtown shops were looted and other facilities vandalized.
How exactly the uprising began is not known. But two people who were present at the event and heard from Terra said there were small groups in the crowd who launched a trawler that stole cell phones and wallets from anyone they saw ahead. This would have triggered a stampede, particularly among those who were with children, creating a situation of panic and forcing the military police into action.
