According to the Ukrainian military, the entire crew of the ship died in the sinking. The Russian armed forces, for their part, ensure that everyone survived.
One of the flagships of the burning Russian fleet. The first images were revealed on Monday showing the flagship Moskva, which sank in the Black Sea last week.
While Moscow claimed the building was “severely damaged” by fire, a senior Pentagon official said on Friday that the ship was actually sunk by two Ukrainian missiles. For Jérôme Pellistrandi, this Ukrainian attack is both “a tactical and media success” for Kyiv, which has been at war with Moscow for almost two months.
“It was the flagship of the Black Sea fleet, a relatively old building since it entered active service in 1983,” continues BFMTV, the editor-in-chief of Défense National magazine, “the Russians had about three copies, it’s just two left.”
Probably survivors
The first images of the burning Moskva show that after the Ukrainian cruise missiles hit, a fire broke out in the stern of the ship and the tugboat has not yet arrived to help. Information showing these photos were taken shortly after the attack.
“When we see the pictures, it means that part of the crew was able to save themselves,” said General Jérôme Pellistrandi, while referring to the Russian losses and a bitter failure for Moscow: “These pictures are devastating because they show the inability of the Crew demonstrate Navy.”
The Russian Defense Ministry released a video last Saturday showing suspected sailors rescued from the Russian cruiser. Like a war of images that seems to unfold around a very significant episode of that war.
