A flock of sheep spent 12 days walking nonstop in circles on a farm in China. The animals’ bizarre behavior was recorded by the property’s security cameras.
The sheep moved clockwise in the city of Baotou in Inner Mongolia in early November. The animals’ owner, Miao, said few walked in circles, and over time others joined the group.
Images captured by the property’s security cameras show the sheep turning around day and night. While some keep moving, others get stuck in the middle.
According to the owner of the place, the strange behavior of the sheep only happened in one of the 34 pens on the farm. The movement left many doubts, and the reason for the phenomenon is still a mystery.
The Chron noted that listeriosis is a disease that can leave animals disoriented, which can cause them to walk in circles. This occurs through inflammation of the brain with the presence of a bacterium. Even with that possibility, the case remains a mystery.
