Lori Loughlin is officially back to acting and has just booked her first film since the college admissions scandal in 2019.
On September 22, Great American Country Media (GAC) officially announced that Lori would star in her first romantic comedy film with the network. Titled Fall Into Winter, it is expected to premiere in January 2023 and will be part of GAC Family’s annual winter programming.
“Lori is a genre-defining star who has been my close friend and collaborator for more than 15 years.” Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media, in an official statement. “We share a shared vision to create meaningful and memorable films that resonate with our passionate fans, and I look forward to welcoming them back to the Great American Family to anchor our 2023 winter programming list.”
As soon as the news broke the internet, former Hallmark and GAC fans immediately flocked to social media to warmly congratulate Lori on her role on the burgeoning network.
“Finally…welcome back Lori,” one fan wrote on Instagram. “👏❤️ I’m so excited that she’s back. I was hoping GAC would have her in movies,” commented another follower. “I’m so happy for Lori Loughlin. I can’t wait to see this movie and her. Bravo GAC for casting such a wonderful actress! 😍😍😍😍,” added another fan.
So what will Fall In Winter be about? According to People, Lori will play a woman named Keely who is “horrified when her brother sells his half of his family-owned upscale candy store to his best friend from high school (and her nemesis Brooks), prompting a sudden urgency to find him.” Connection and togetherness.” According to GAC, the two characters are more alike than they realize. “Destiny brings the two together. Could it also offer new beginnings?” the description concludes.

Although this is the first film Lori is doing with GAC, this isn’t her first collaboration with the network. After Hallmark severed ties with actress When Calls the Heart in October 2021, she reprized her role as Abigail Stanton in the season 2 premiere of GAC spinoff When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas in December of that year. This news also comes after Hallmark took the surprising step of quietly bringing Lori’s Garage Sale Mysteries movies back to her channel.
Also, Lori isn’t the only Full House cast member to make the leap from Hallmark to GAC. Already in April Candace Cameron Bure announced she was switching networks, and she recently opened up about what happened that played into the big decision.
“The truth is I’ve been with Hallmark for a very, very long time. And these were absolutely wonderful,” she told Variety in September. “Coincidentally my contract expired when Great American Family started. So we didn’t start these discussions until after we negotiated an extension with Hallmark Channel. And as any businessman knows, you have to do what’s right for contracts.”
