La Paz, April 19th- The results of a published poll confirm popular support for the government of Bolivian President Luis Arce at more than 51 percentage points.
The poll, published by Página Siete newspaper, says the president has a positive image of 51.6 percent, a figure that makes him the country’s top-rated politician.
The Bolivian news agency recalls that after taking office as head of state in November 2020, Arce carried out a political program aimed at bringing the country out of the economic crisis caused by Jeanine Áñez’s coup government, which was devastated by the effects of COVID-19 19 was exacerbated pandemic, the Covid-19.
He also worked to break the political impasse that resulted from the 2019 coup against Evo Morales and the subsequent wave of repression.
Arce emerged victorious as the Movement for Socialism candidate in the 2020 parliamentary elections, a process he won in the first round with 55.11 percent of valid votes, according to official data from the Bolivian Supreme Electoral Court.
Popular support for the president is not shared with key opposition leaders, with Citizen Community’s former presidential candidate Carlos Mesa having a negative image for more than 58 percent of respondents.
For his part, the governor of the department of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, disapproves of his leadership with more than 64 percentage points.
According to Página Siete, the survey was conducted on March 25-30, based on 800 interviews with citizens under the age of 18 with Internet access, and the trust level is 95 percent.
