US President Joe Biden plans to speak to allies about the war in Ukraine on Tuesday. “The president will convene a video call with allies and partners to discuss our continued support for Ukraine and our efforts to hold Russia accountable, as part of our close coordination,” a statement said Monday night (local time). Far-reaching agreements were reached in previous consultations.
Biden recently announced a massive increase in US military aid to Ukraine so that it can withstand the Russian offensive in the east of the country. In addition, Washington is pushing for tougher sanctions against Russia, especially in the oil sector. In this regard, however, influential EU countries such as Germany are on the brakes.
