An adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is certain that Russia’s offensive in Donbass will fail. The offensive is just “very cautious”, says Oleksiy Arestovych. However, the Russian military does not have the strength to break through Ukrainian defense lines. According to its own statements, Russia carried out dozens more air strikes in eastern Ukraine on Tuesday night.

Russia says Ukrainian MiG jet shot down
According to the ministry, Russian troops destroyed two warehouses with Tochka submarine tactical missile warheads in Chervona Polyana, in the Luhansk region, and in Balakliya, in the Kharkiv region. A total of 1,260 military targets were hit by rockets and artillery overnight, the ministry said. Russian air defense systems also shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet in the Donetsk region. On Monday night, the Ukrainian side announced that the Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine had begun.
