“He’s a heartthrob, he’s going to lose his job,” the actor revealed as gay

The Globo actor spoke about coming out publicly as gay despite being a heartthrob

Carmo Dalla Vecchia is one of the prettiest heartthrobs in the history of TV globe🇧🇷 And for years he was afraid to come out because of the public. But last year he got fed up and decided to go public with the fact that he loves a man.

He is married to the soap opera writer João Emanuel Carneiro. In an interview with the program Foquinha no Gshow, Carmo Dalla Vecchia commented when he felt the need that it was time to make public who he was.

“We who are gay were born into a society that constantly tells us we’re wrong. So it lives somewhere in your head. Coming in, going public and saying ‘look, this is my reality’ was a way for me to legitimize my sexuality,” the Globo actor commented.

For those who don’t know, Carmo and João Emanuel have a son. They are the parents of little Pedro, who was born thanks to a surrogate mother. “I had a very good relationship with our surrogate, which I maintain to this day. A very respectful relationship. João and I chatted with her and her husband to find out if we would do the deal, if we liked each other, if we had an affinity. We had a couple of meetings and then everything was absolutely clear,” the actor said.

He also spoke to Yahoo about the criticism he received for coming out. “I exposed my sexuality nationally when a lot of people were like, ‘This boy is crazy, he’s a heartthrob, he’s going to lose his job. “From the moment you took the stand, I felt like at some point I’d overcome the fear of ‘what if so and so knows?’ would eliminate. ‘What if soandso gossips about me’? (…) I felt like I was going to get rid of all those thoughts,” said Carmo Dalla Vecchia.
