Wilco‘s classic fourth album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot turns 20 this year – the band is currently playing it live in NYC at a five-day United Palace run – and in case you were wondering if they might put out a special edition this year, the answer is yes. There are a few YHF reissues coming out September 16th via Nonesuch, ranging from a standard vinyl remastered edition to an 11 vinyl album/1 CD Super Deluxe Edition. You can now pre-order them in the BV shop.
The Super Deluxe Edition contains 82 previously unreleased tracks including demos, drafts, instrumentals, a live album, radio performance and interview from September 2001 and more. It also comes with a book featuring an interview jeff tweedy, drummer Glenn Kocheand mixing engineer Jim O’Rourke, as well as a new essay by journalist/author Bob Mehr and previously unreleased photos of the band making the album at their Chicago studio. Wilco completes his United Palace run on Tuesday and Wednesday (Tickets). They then travel to Chicago where they will play three Foxtrot shows at the Yankee Hotel this weekend. They also stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to play “Poor Places” last night and you can watch that below.
