Japan ships masks, clothes and drones to Ukraine and Updates

Tokyo, April 19 Japan will provide Ukraine with masks and protective clothing against chemical weapons, as well as commercial drones, Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi said today.

The measure comes in response to a request from the Ukrainian government, which the Japanese executive says is in line with principles established for the transfer of defense equipment as long as it does not pose a threat to other people’s lives.

Kishi told a news conference that deliveries will be made via commercial flights as soon as possible, as part of the ministry’s and Self-Defense Forces’ continued support to Kyiv.

This will be the second batch of Japanese supplies destined for the Ukrainian military. Last month, Tokyo offered bulletproof vests, helmets and combat uniforms after the state legislature (bicameral parliament) approved the cabinet’s decision.

The latest announcement comes amid unfounded speculation by Ukraine, the United States and their allies about the possible use of toxic material by Russian troops, rumors Moscow denies while warning of a likely false flag operation blaming the country .

Russia’s offensive began on February 24 in response to a request for help from the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics in the face of increasing attacks from Kyiv.

President Putin stressed that the aim of the operation is to defend the people of Donbass and to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine.

He also stressed that the Kremlin will not allow Kyiv to acquire nuclear weapons, which poses a threat to his country’s security.

He noted that other conditions for ending hostilities are the country’s non-admission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the introduction of guarantees of military neutrality of this state and recognition of Crimea’s reunification with Russia.
