Motorists will have to be patient in the coming days, as a construction site will cause significant disruption – up to and including complete closure – of the Quebec Bridge.
These obstacles are related to major maintenance work by Canadian National (CN), a link more than a hundred years old, that will take several days and nights, the Department of Transportation (MTQ) said in a news release.
Two of the three lanes will be closed between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on November 27 and 28 and between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. on November 29 and December 1.
Two of the three lanes will be closed between 7pm and 10pm on December 3rd and 5th and between 8pm and 10pm on December 6th and 8th.
During this time, only one northbound lane will remain open to traffic.
In addition, the Quebec Bridge will be completely closed between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. the next day on December 3, and between 10:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. on December 4 and 8.
“During these closures, users are invited to take the Pierre Laporte bridge to go from one bank of the river to the other,” states the MTQ.
The organization also says there will be more closures between 9am and 3pm or between 7pm and 5.30am over the next few weeks but that one lane in each direction will be maintained.
