The Flash star Ezra Miller arrested for second time in weeks in Hawaii

DC Comics star Ezra Miller was arrested Tuesday morning in Hawaii for allegedly throwing a chair that hit a 26-year-old woman, according to the Hawaii Police Department. This is The Flash star’s second arrest in the state in less than a month.

Police said officers were responding to a private gathering at a home in the Leilani Estates subdivision of Lower Puna. Witnesses reported that one person, later identified as Miller, “got angry after being asked to leave” and threw a chair, hitting the woman in the head and leaving a 1/2 inch gash.

The woman refused treatment for the injury, police said.

Miller, who uses she/them pronouns, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. for second-degree assault during a traffic stop in Kea’au.

They were released just after 4:05 a.m. Tuesday morning. Police say the incident is still under investigation.

This isn’t Miller’s first run-in with Hawaii authorities. On March 29, Miller was arrested after allegedly getting upset about bar-goers singing karaoke. The bar owner told them to calm down “several times” but they wouldn’t listen and instead yelled “obscenities”, grabbed a singing girl’s microphone and lunged at a man playing darts. The 29-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment and arrested just after midnight. They were released after posting $500 bail.

The ‘Justice League’ actor is best known for his role as Flash in the DC Comics cinematic universe. They have also appeared in We Need To Talk About Kevin, Perks of Being a Wallflower, and the Fantastic Beasts trilogy.

Her most recent film, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, was just released on April 15th. The standalone film The Flash, which will star Miller, is slated for release in 2023.
