Johnny Depp says he would lock himself in bathroom to escape from Amber Heard

Johnny Depp has said he would lock himself in the bathroom to escape Amber Heard’s violence.

In the article, which didn’t specifically name Depp, Heard claimed she had a history of abuse.

Heard has filed a $100million (£76.6million) counterclaim against her ex-husband in a case currently pending in Virginia.

Depp, 58, is currently at the booth answering questions about his childhood and his relationship with Heard.

And today (April 20) he claimed that if Heard, 35, got angry, he would lock himself in the bathroom and other rooms.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star said: “I would withdraw from the situation as much as possible, like I did when I was young.

“I certainly didn’t believe that these various issues or arguments would have to come up and travel the distance that they have made so quickly to ramp up so quickly.

“It was like being nailed to a wall and you had to listen to it and just take it.

“So I found that the only way to find any kind of peace was to try to walk away. If she didn’t allow me to go away, I would just leave and lock myself in the bathroom or some other place she couldn’t get to.

“And that’s happened constantly over the years.”

Depp continued: “Miss Heard, in her frustration and in her anger and fury, she would smack her; it could start with a slap, a shove, it could start with me throwing a TV remote control at my head, it could start with throwing a glass of wine in my face.

“But all in all it was just a constant… there was a built in list of things I had said.

“My personal experience, shared with Miss Heard, these facts were used against meat weapons, especially when it came to my children. That was not necessary.”

Depp also told the court that he never hit Heard during their relationship and has never hit a woman in his life.

Claiming this wasn’t the only time he’s seen the actor with injuries to his face, Bett recounted how Depp and Heard were constantly at odds.

He explained how Depp once asked him to take Heard to her penthouse to calm down, privately telling her in the car that “this can’t go on like this.”

Bett added that “you’re either going to kill each other or end up in jail.”
