Cody Simpson has revealed how he prepares to sing in front of a live audience.
The 25-year-old singer-turned-swimmer took to Instagram on Wednesday with a video of him demonstrating vocal exercises in a locker room before singing the Australian national anthem on stage at an AFLW game.
Cody went shirtless in the video and flexed his flexing abs and biceps while his lifeguard friend Emma McKeon looked on lovingly.

Cody then showed fans some of the food he munched on before his big performance, including bananas, potato chips and dip.
The Commonwealth Games gold medalist captioned the footage with some thoughtful words: “There are parallels between warming up to sing and swimming a race.
“Here are some annoying backstage shots before I sang the national anthem this week,” he cheekily added.

It wasn’t long before many of Cody’s 4.8 million followers posted words of support.
One fan gushed that Cody was “an expert at lip trills,” while another said they loved his subtle crooning skills.
Cody and Emma started dating a few months ago after Cody, a successful singer-songwriter, postponed his music career to focus on competitive swimming.

The two are said to have gotten along well a few months ago as training partners of weapons trainer Michael Bohl.
Earlier this year, they found themselves in the middle of an alleged “love triangle” during the Australian Championships in Adelaide.
There have been reports claiming that Kyle Chalmers intentionally disqualified Simpson from world championship eligibility in the 100m butterfly by choosing to compete in the event.
However, Chalmers, who dated McKeon for several months in 2021, later denied it and said he always planned to attend the event.
