Painter Autumn Ying imagined what life would be like for the royal family if Princess Diana were alive and able to spend time with her daughters-in-law and grandchildren in a series of emotional paintings.
Prince William and Prince Harry regularly talk about their mother, who died in a car accident when they were 15 and 12 respectively, and how much they miss her. Initially, Ying was inspired by Harry and Meghan’s wedding and after that decided to create more intimate scenes. Sharing her art on Instagram, the artist said, “Here comes a joyful version of the royal family, to whom I would like to express precious family ties.”
The prints, however, are bittersweet, illustrating what could never be. Harry has spoken in the past about how he is still struggling with his mother’s death.
