The team, unveiled this Wednesday, April 20 by Prime Minister Patrick Achi, who has just been reappointed, has 32 members compared to 41 in the previous government. As promised, a dense team, but without major upheavals. The most important departments remain in the hands of their owners: foreign policy in Kandia Camarra, defense in Téné Birahima Ouattara, agriculture in Kobenan Kouassi Adjoumani, interior in Vagondo Diomande, education in Mariatou Koné.
One of the most notable movements is that of Alain Richard-Donwahi at Waters and Forests. After five years at the helm of this strategic ministry, he was succeeded by Laurent Tchagba. Also leave the minister of crafts, Félix Anoblé, whose portfolio will be abolished, or that of oil, Thomas Camara, who will be replaced by a new one, Mamadou Sangofowa Coulibaly. A ministry that has become key since the discovery of a very large offshore deposit last year. The other entry is that of Françoise Remarck. The former head of Canal+ in Côte d’Ivoire is appointed to the cultural sector. The Ministry of the Digital Economy or that of Investment Promotion has disappeared. The four state secretaries of the previous government will also be abolished.
This executive therefore welcomes two new ministers while a dozen leave. The four state secretaries of the previous government are abolished. The Deputy Minister for Integration, Alcide DjeDje, is thanked. The Achi 2 government has an appointment for its first Council of Ministers this Thursday.
