December 2022 Series: Alice In Borderland On Netflix, Fácil On Movistar Plus+ And Other Premieres

Costa’s series, which adapts the novel Lectura fácil by Cristina Morales, will not premiere until months after the author called the television version “Nazi” because she says it glosses over the underlying theme and takes it out of view from shown setup view. Fácil follows the everyday life of four women with different functions living in a serviced apartment in Barcelona. Natalia de Molina, Anna Castillo, Coria Castillo and Anna Marchessi (actress and screenwriter born with cerebral palsy) are the protagonists of this story that takes a tender look at its protagonists and how they try to adapt to a world full of rules to which they disagree.

The Last Socialist Artifact

This title of Croatian origin (from 2021 but unreleased in Spain) received great critical acclaim and won the award for best international series at the Séries Mania festival. Two citizens from Zagreb move to a small town in the Balkans, where the inhabitants live in need. There, they will attempt to revive the factory that has been keeping the entire city busy and was abandoned after the dismemberment of Yugoslavia, while confronted with a mysterious customer’s order to produce a turbine that can only be made there. The plot serves this drama to deal with issues such as workers’ rights or to show the disintegration of Yugoslav society.

The relationship between Álex and Bruno, which is the focus of Guillem Cluas play of the same name, has now become a series with Carlos Cuevas and Miki Esparbé as protagonists. Álex wants to ask a boy for explanations who hasn’t shown any signs of life after a few weeks of being in a relationship. The message is accidentally sent to Bruno. From there begins a relationship between opposite poles who hopelessly attract each other. From the previews you can guess that it will be an urban romantic comedy that starts as a candidate for an easy and fast consumption marathon.

One of those “happy places” that television gives away from time to time in the form of a series to escape to for a while is this drama, with the landscapes of the English countryside as a backdrop, to tell the adventures of a trio of country vets . The third season begins in the spring of 1939, with the threat of war looming. James prepares to start a new life with Helen, and Tristan is an official vet. Friendly stories and characters, rural landscapes and events without much complexity are some of the keys to captivate audiences looking for a television that exudes peace, tranquility and friendliness.

One of the European productions that has raised the most expectations this year and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival is this Italian drama by filmmaker Marco Bellocchio, which deals with the murder of Aldo Moro, which he has already dealt with the Movie Buenos Aires, Days, Night (2003). The action takes place in 1978, when the first Communist Party-backed government in a Western country is poised to come to power with an alliance with the Christian Democrats (DC). DC leader Aldo Moro, the main supporter of this agreement, is kidnapped on the same day as the inauguration ceremony. 55 days later and after various negotiations, his body was found in the trunk of a car in Rome. Both the criticism that has poured out of Cannes and what is known about it make it a series to consider.

Before The Squid Game took the world by storm, a Japanese production had already resorted to macabre survival games to captivate viewers. The first season begins with three young people who suddenly find themselves in an empty Tokyo, where they will plunge into a game of wit, skill and resilience to try to prolong their lives (spoilers: not everyone succeeds). . Between allusions to Alice in Wonderland and stereotypes of Japanese fiction, this adaptation of a manga tells an entertaining but irregular story that weakened as the chapters progressed. It was a word-of-mouth success on Netflix, revived months later with the Echo of the Squid and has now once again capitalized on the hunger for survival games.

The first season of this thriller placed its characters in a scientific station in Antarctica. Cut off from the world, a series of crimes changed his life: Someone on the station was a murderer. This time, the characters (some repetitive, but most are new) will be trapped in a scientific ship with a large laboratory onboard and a key mission to combat climate change. The different current masculinities and the crisis of the alpha male serve as the common thread of a story with half-hour chapters that wants to be located between the animal humor of La que se avecina and the whiter one of El pueblo. Each friend will experience a series of transformations, some violent, driven by the women around them.
