“There is no place in this world for such an unjust attack on humanity.”
The Hollywood couple have pledged to raise up to $3 million in donations, with the ultimate goal of raising $30 million. So far, the fundraiser has reached half that goal of $15 million and growth.
“I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, in 1983,” Mila said in an Instagram video announcing the campaign. — I came to America in 1991 and have always considered myself an American. Proud American. I love everything this country has done for me and my family. But today, more than ever, I was proud to be a Ukrainian.”
Mila continued by calling the ongoing crisis “devastating.” She said, “There is no place in this world for such an unjust attack on humanity.”

The funds will go to Flexport.org, which coordinates aid deliveries to refugee accommodations in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova, and Airbnb, which provides free short-term housing for displaced people. Both organizations work closely with “established NGOs” that are “active on the ground and provide immediate assistance to those who need it most”.
Several celebrities cheered in the comments, including Jenna Dewan and Reese Witherspoon, who said she is “donating now.”
