Harry and Meghan star in Netflix documentary trailer
Insiders say the prince is no longer willing to let wild allegations of racism and other wrongdoing go unanswered and is moving forward. Senior staffers have been ordered to watch the six-part series like hawks and be quick to refute dubious claims. In a “retreat” message to his brother and wife, he ditched the long-standing royal mantra of “never complain, never explain.”
When asked how William and Kate would react if they felt there were inaccurate claims, a well-placed source said: “The Prince and Princesses team will be waiting to see what’s in the Netflix series before it’s released.” decides what to do, but you can see the direction of travel.”
The final drop came after Harry was accused of trying to ‘sabotage’ the Prince and Princess of Wales’ high-profile visit to the US.
His decision to release a trailer for the show on the second day of their tour of Boston was taken as a “declaration of war”.
And yesterday he almost stole the spotlight again when a charity video of him dressed as Spider-Man was released and went viral.
It came amid a privacy row after a photo of Harry and Meghan at Buckingham Palace surfaced in the trailer.

Prince William’s latest ruthless approach was evident in the speed with which his office acted on allegations of racism by lady-in-waiting, Baroness Susan Hussey, last week.
The Sussexes drew global attention with their infamous Oprah interview in March last year, which included accusations of racism against the royal family, with whom they have a long feud.
It took the royals two days to respond and issued a brief statement that included the line: “Some memories may vary.”
Harry’s biographer, Angela Levin, told GB News last night: “The accusation that the royal family is being racist is truly appalling.
“I’m sure Harry and Meghan are very jealous.”
In the Netflix trailer, which focused heavily on Meghan, Ms Levin told Philip Davies and Esther McVey: “She’s an actress. She tried to get Harry to be a bit of an actor, but not very successfully.”
The new series is scheduled to air on Thursday, exactly three months after Queen Elizabeth’s death.
It promises to tell, in her own words, the story of the Sussexes’ love and their struggles with the royal family.
Attuned to new revelations, Kensington Palace officials are now adopting a new strategy of confronting controversy head-on rather than letting it smolder.
King Charles is also said to be eager to defend himself should damaging allegations surface.
William and Kate are expected to speak to the royal in the coming days about the recent family crisis.
There is growing frustration in the royal household over the Sussexes’ constant need to monetize the collapse of their relationship with the royal family.
Palace officials believe condemning Lady Susan’s comments, which stepped on the front foot, avoided repeated questions while the Prince and Princess of Wales were in Boston to receive the £50million Earthshot Prize environmental technology awards – although this still overshadowed much of the trip.
A source said: “We said we would not allow ourselves to be distracted and we have done so by focusing on enhancing the prince’s reputation as a statesman speaking on this serious issue.”
Last night, when the couple returned from their three-day visit, aid workers said they believed they had achieved their goal.

They left Boston after a glittering ceremony at MGM Music Hall in Fenway, where they were joined by stars including former England captain David Beckham and Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox.
Kate, who wore a £74 green rental dress to protect the environment and an emerald choker that once belonged to Queen Mary and was used as a headband by Princess Diana, leaned over and kissed Beckham, 47, on the cheek.
Meanwhile, it emerged last night that the Princess of Wales had lost her faithful private secretary.
Hannah Cockburn-Logie had served Kate faithfully for two and a half years, but decided to step down shortly after the Queen’s death for personal reasons.
