Vietnamese automaker VinFast opened its first store in Quebec at Carrefour Laval yesterday.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by a number of VinFast Canada executives and product specialists who have been commissioned to introduce the vehicles of this new brand. Many consumers came to express their interest or simply their curiosity.
The bright decor, embellished with illustrations from VinFast’s country of origin, gives way to the first two models launched on our market, the electric SUVs VF 8 and VF 9. One is medium-sized with two rows of seats and the other is regular-sized with three rows .

Rapid expansion
Keep in mind that like Tesla, Genesis and Rivian, VinFast chose not to have dealers but shops. Nearly forty are scheduled to open their doors by the end of 2023 in the three provinces where activities will begin: Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. At home will also be available in Brossard, Ville Saint-Laurent and Quebec very soon.
The company advocates online transactions, but places more emphasis on helping customers make a personalized transaction and then providing after-sales service. Maintenance and updates can be done via cloud computing, in-store, or at home. In addition, an emergency response team is on hand to help if needed.
Revised prices
Additionally, as we learned following the recent unveiling of the future VF 6 and VF 7 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, VinFast Canada has increased its prices compared to what was originally announced. The VF 8 now starts at $54,990 and the VF 9 at $79,990. In addition, there is the rental of the battery and here, too, the prices have risen. For the VF 8, the fixed plan (unlimited miles) is now $259 per month instead of $139. With VF 9 it’s $349 per month instead of $199. Flexible plans are also offered depending on the mileage travelled.
The good news is that if you make a reservation with a fixed rate subscription until December 31, 2022, the cost will be frozen for the entire life of the vehicle, even after later resale. In addition, VinFast’s guarantee provides for free replacement of the battery once it has lost 30% of its original charge capacity.

If you don’t want to worry about renting the battery, you can make an “all-inclusive” purchase for an additional $10,000 on the VF 8 and $23,800 on the VF 9. These are precisely the details that VinFast specialists know at Carrefour Laval and elsewhere will take care to explain to consumers in order to convince them. We can’t wait to see the first sales figures next year.
