The actress and her husband Wells Adams have lost their beloved bloodhound, Carl.
Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams faced a great loss today and announced that their bloodhound, Carl, has passed away.
In honor of the loyal pet, Hyland posted a sweet tribute on Instagram, sharing some special moments of their time together with the caption: “Our gentle giant Carl, you were our protector, our best hugger and the light of our lives. Thank you for being the best friend anyone could ask for. I will love you forever. You will always be my best big boy, daddy’s best friend and Boo’s first love. We will cuddle in our sleep 🌈🤍. “
The first photo shows Hyland lying on a bed with Carl, who was about her height. The remaining pictures show Carl cuddling with Adams and spending time with the couple’s other dog, Boo. There’s also an adorable holiday family photo featuring Boo, Carl, Hyland and Wells, all wearing matching pajamas in front of their fireplace.
Many of Hyland and Adams’ friends were also saddened by the news.
LiliCollins commented, “Oh no I send you the most love”, while Kaley Cuoco emotionally wrote, “Noooo.”
“😢 I’m so sorry guys,” she wrote Kaitlyn Bristol from The Bachelorette.
Brandy Cyrus also left a note of support, writing: “The cutest boy! It’s not the same without the big guy greeting me at the door. He will be so missed 🖤.”
Hyland’s TV sister, Ariel Wintercommented: “💔 Sending big hugs. I’m sorry for your loss💔.”
But arguably the heartiest comment came from Adams, who told Hyland, “He loved you the most. And that made me happy.”
The much-loved Carl was originally Adams’ dog, but when Hyland and Adams started dating, they all became one big family.
Adams also shared the news on Carl’s Instagram page and his own, writing, “I’m trying to write this in tears but it is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you that @carlthebloodhound has gone to dog heaven. Carl you were such a good guy. A true gentle giant. You were sweet, loud, protective, and drooling, and boy did you give the best hugs! You were the best boy I’ve ever known.
The story goes on
He continued, “I hope you thought I was a good dad. We’ve been through so much and I, there’s no way I would be here without you. Carlos the Blooder, know mom, dad and boo love you forever. I hope you visit me in my dreams all the time to play tug of war. My jog will never be the same, but I’ll make sure to stop by the trees where the squirrels are if you’re still running with me. I will always be my big old dog. I love you. 😔💕.”
