Charlotte Rampling, 76, shares her thoughts on aging gracefully and why she would NEVER have plastic surgery: ‘I disagree’
Charlotte Rampling has never gone under the knife to maintain her good looks — and she never will.
The 76-year-old English actress simply believes in aging gracefully – and says she’s “fascinated” by the process.
‘That question doesn’t appeal to me. It doesn’t appeal to me. I really have no relationship with,” she told the Sydney Morning Herald on Sunday when asked about getting older.

“It will be what it will be. My face isn’t too bad so I don’t need surgery,” the Dune star continued.
“Even if I had wanted to, I probably never would have because I’m too scared of it and I’m not okay with it. I’m kind of fascinated by how my face ages.”
When it comes to staying fit and healthy, the actress insists it’s down to DNA.
“It will be what it will be. My face isn’t too bad so I don’t need surgery,” said the Dune star. “Even if I had wanted to, I probably never would have because I’m too scared of it and I’m not okay with it. I’m kind of fascinated by how my face ages.” Pictured in 1977
“I’m determined to keep myself as strong and good as I can, physically. I have very much my father’s body, the muscular tone,” she says.
Charlotte once credited the longevity of her career — and ability to land “sexy” roles — to not changing her famous face.
“Don’t change your face and you can get really interesting pieces – not just granny pieces; You can get sexy bits too,” said The Night Porter star.

Earlier this year, Charlotte reminisced about the time she was enjoying a flirtation with Russell Crowe before he found big success in his acting career.
The Oscar-nominated actress – who took the spotlight in Georgy Girl – recalls starring alongside Russell, 58, in the 1993 Australian romantic drama Hammers Over The Anvil .
At the time, she was married to French musician Jean-Michel Jarre, who is now 74, while Crowe was in an on-off relationship with actress Danielle Spencer, who later became his wife.

Speaking to The Chron’s Richard Eden, Charlotte said the younger Russell was “a very attractive young man” and explained that he predates Crowe, who has now “gone huge” thanks to films like 2000’s ‘Gladiator’ .
She continued, “I was flirting. You could leave it at that.’
Charlotte is currently appearing in the film Juniper and will next star in the sequel to the hit sci-fi Dune.
