Maybe they knew where to look? Or did they rummage so well that they managed to find and carry away the important loot? A good 16,000 euros were stolen from an apartment on Via Brescia in Sciacca and kept in a bedroom closet. A very significant damage for the owners of the apartment, which is not covered by any insurance policy.
The theft was carried out in broad daylight: from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., that is, during the absence of the hosts. It seems obvious that the criminal gang – it is difficult to assume that only one perpetrator could have done anything – had studied the schedules and movements of the residents of this apartment. And once they had a free hand, they just slipped in and pulled off the coup. Barely returned home, the discovery was made by the owner of the house, a 61-year-old unemployed woman who, between disbelief, dismay and anger, could do nothing but call the police. The Arma soldiers searched the entire area, “hunting” for possible suspects. Of course, an investigation was launched to try, if possible, to identify whoever broke into the apartment and took a nice nest egg.
The public prosecutor’s office, which will coordinate the ongoing investigation, is clearly informed. The rumor of the Maxi theft has been circulating in the city for a few days. And the “rumors” are actually true, because thieves didn’t steal a few hundred euros and a few jewels, but a good 16,000 euros.
It does not appear – but the investigators’ duty of confidentiality is categorical – that nothing else was taken, neither valuables nor IT products. Here’s why, but it’s just a hypothesis, it’s not out of the question that whoever acted knew.
