by Laura Vincenti

Opened in 1967 on Corso Magenta, this store is a stop for anyone looking for American and English rock music in the ’70s and ’80s. «It is now impossible to compete with e-commerce»

Opened in 1967 after 55 years of activity Buscemi slices announces this in 2023 will close its gates. This is how a historical record address in Milan disappears, a part of the culture, not just of the music, of the city. Point of reference for many enthusiasts who could find what they are looking for here many rarities imported from abroad. Especially in the ’70s and ’80s, those looking for American and English rock records, practically unreleased in Italy, could come here and surely find them.

Thanks to a well-stocked warehouse under the store’s historic location, in Magenta of course: It was enough to make the request and records jumped out of the elevator. And thanks to the market crisis and the rise of e-commerce, in 2013 the sign was moved to the underground warehouse on Via Terraggio, which will now be gone forever. So many messages of affection are chasing each other on social networks from well wishers who came here from all over northern Italy in search of Records, CDs and trade magazines: over 600,000 rock, jazz, blues, folk, classical and ethnic music titles from all over the world in the catalogue.
