(Montreal) A driver who immobilized his vehicle at a red light met a horrific end at 10:54 p.m. Saturday night in the Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles neighborhood of Montreal.

The latter was traveling east on Henri-Bourassa Boulevard when he stopped at the 6th Avenue intersection. He was struck head-on by another vehicle traveling in the same direction.
“On impact, the first vehicle caught fire. The driver, who was in the immobilized vehicle, died instantly,” said Constable Gabriella Youakim, spokeswoman for the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The other driver, a 19-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment of lower body injuries. We are not afraid for our lives.
The latter, however, could end up in court as alcohol and speed could have been involved in this collision.
The 19-year-old young man has to be picked up by SPVM investigators during the day.
A fence was erected to protect the scene of the accident for a few hours to allow SPVM police officers to investigate and attempt to understand the exact causes and circumstances of this incident.
The SPVM investigation is ongoing.
