MADRID, April 21 – Spanish and Danish Prime Ministers Pedro Sanchez and Mette Frederiksen will visit the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Thursday to support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, their respective offices said.
Sanchez has already arrived in Kyiv, his office said in a statement. Denmark’s Prime Minister Frederiksen was also in Kyiv on Thursday morning, TV footage posted by Sanchez on his Twitter account showed.
The Danish Prime Minister said in a statement that the parties would discuss further support for Ukrainians and the prosecution of “war crimes and human rights violations”.
Sanchez and Frederiksen are following in the footsteps of several other European leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and British and Czech prime ministers, who have traveled to Ukraine to express their support for the country since the country was invaded by Russia to demonstrate their President and their people.
