Aaron Carter’s estate is set to go to son Prince, one, as the singer’s mother expresses hope of meeting the boy

Aaron Carter’s estate goes to his one-year-old son, Prince, and the singer’s family wants to make sure the boy is taken care of.

Because he left no will, California law provides that the singer’s estate, which is estimated at around $550,000 in real estate and personal property, goes to the next of kin, and since Aaron was unmarried, the inheritance goes to Prince .

The Crush on You singer died on November 5 at the age of 34 at his home in Lancaster, California. The cause of death is not yet known.

Carter family matriarch Jane told TMZ she has yet to meet Prince or his mother, Aaron’s fiancée Melanie Martin, but they would like to have a relationship with them.

She also wants everything from her son’s estate to go to Aaron’s child, Prince, and she noted that the other members of his family are good enough not to need a portion of his estate.

On Friday, Melanie posted a video of the growing memorial outside Aaron’s home on social media over the weekend.

“It was very emotional for me to have my boys with me,” he shared. “There’s that old saying ‘The show must go on’ that has stuck with us for years, but on that night I didn’t know what to expect from.”

Jane Carter said Aaron reached out to Nick in the weeks before his death when the Backstreet Boys were touring Europe, but Nick was unable to get in touch with Aaron before his death.
