They become recurring. In Gabon, earthquakes are now more and more present, while they were rather rare in the memory of the inhabitants. New tremors were registered in Libreville at 10:53 a.m. this Sunday. This is the fourth in less than two years. The previous three were recorded on March 6, 2021 in Fougamou, Lambaréné and Ndjolé and three days earlier on March 9 in Libreville and Mbigou. The last shock dated April 27 of the same year. It happened about 45 kilometers southwest of Lambaréné.
Androide’s alarm system, which confirmed this Sunday’s earthquake, states that it is an “earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 4.8” recorded simultaneously in two countries: Gabon (Libreville and Lambarene) and Equatorial Guinea . The epicenter would be “33 kilometers from Komo-Mondah”.
