The sourdough product of the confectioner Sal De Riso won the award for the best panettone in Italy at the Panettone Artists 2022 competition. A challenge between fifteen masters of the traditional Christmas dessert, proposed in its classic version without icing and part of Happy Christmas , Happy Panettone, a Weekend entirely dedicated to the sweet symbol of the Milanese city and to the gastronomic tradition (here the complete program). In second place of the ranking we find Andrea Tortora from AT Patissier (here you can find his products), while the third step of the podium went to Lucca Cantarin from Pasticceria Marisa (here the shop). The special recognition for the best master under 35 went to Alessandro Ercoles from the Canasta pastry shop in Cattolica. To evaluate the professionals, the jury, chaired by the master Luigi Biasetto – Tre Torte del Gambero Rosso, already twice winner of the Panettone Artists’ Contest (2018 and 2021) – and made up of journalists and other experts in the sector. We rated professionals, but also people. – said Biasetto – I’m sorry for the Milanese panettone fanatics, but this product is now going from Veneto to Sicily, and those prescribed today are the best in Italy. As always organized by the Confcommercio Milano, the ceremony of this fifth edition took place in the Lombard capital, in the Palazzo Castiglioni, at the headquarters of the Confederation.
