CNN —

Some people like to sing their good news from the rooftops, but in Keke Palmer’s case, it happened on live television in front of millions of viewers.

The actress and comedian hosted “Saturday Night Live” this weekend and during her opening monologue, she announced that she is pregnant with her first child.

Wearing a snap-button trench coat, the Hustlers star said she wanted to “set the record straight” over some “rumours” she was having a baby.

“I am!” she continued, unbuttoning her coat to reveal her bare baby bump underneath.

As she buckled her coat, Palmer added, “I have to say, it’s bad when people spread rumors about you on the internet, but it’s even worse when they’re right!”

She then joked how she had tried to keep her pregnancy at the “lowest possible level” for fear of losing some sponsorship deals, including one with a liquor label.

“Cash the check and then we can go to the friggin’ baby shower,” she joked.

Palmer hosted the long-running NBC comedy sketch show along with musical guest Sza.

Portions of the show included a cold, open mockery of Herschel Walker, a PSA-style skit for Drake’s ex-boyfriends, and a short in the Hello Kitty store, starring Palmer and Bowen Yang as employees who can’t get over the fact that Hello Kitty isn’t. t a cat.
