La Force de Montréal ended its journey on Sunday in Sept-Îles with a 3-2 loss to Connecticut Whale.

It was a strange game that made all the difference with just under five minutes remaining. A Kennedy Marchment shot was deflected, leaving goalkeeper Tricia Deguire thwarted by a butterfly shot that went over her glove before finding the top corner of the net.
However, the squad had shown resilience by erasing the visitors’ lead twice. Sarah Lefort and Kaity Howarth were the two players who sent the crowd skyrocketing, the second saw her shot slip gently before narrowly crossing the goal line.
Ann-Sophie Bettez is originally from Sept-Îles and received an assist in this game. She had made the difference in the previous day’s 4-3 win by being the only scorer in a penalty shoot-out against the same team.
Whale Keeper Abbie Ives certainly had a say in Sunday’s rematch. She made 35 saves and stole a designated goal from Lefort in the third period by swallowing a shot while she was on the ice.
The Montreal club will now enjoy a moment of calm as they will not resume operations until December 17th. He will face the Minnesota Whitecaps twice in as many days for the occasion.
