Although it seems impossible to find the possibility seawater existed millions of years ago. After some studies, researchers discovered the presence of “stored” liquids inside minerals of iron pyrite 390 million years ago.

The discovery was made in a sea that occupied an area that is currently in the state of New York, a region that stretches from the state of Michigan to Ontario in Canada.
discovery of millions of years
Check out some details of this discovery:
The region that is now New York State was once very different. There was a vast sea stretching from the state of Michigan to Ontario in Canada.
Recently, pyrite minerals were found in the region, which contained sea fluid that researchers say must have been there 390 million years ago. The ore was discovered in the northern Appalachian Basin on the west side of New York.
Several samples were collected and taken to laboratories for analysis. scientist performed chemical analysis and advanced microscopy and were able to gather information on how the oceans are adapting to climate change over the years.
The journal Earth and Planetary Science Letters is the publication responsible for examining the smallest remains of an ancient sea discovered to date. This research revealed the existence of a coral reef similar in size to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia in the midDevonian period.
According to Sandra Taylor, a scientist at the US Department of Energy’s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, the samples were first observed under an electron microscope, which showed a type of very distinctive minibubbles. The minerals have been called “Framboids” because when viewed under a microscope they look a lot like raspberries.
