If there’s one thing we can’t disagree with, it’s that long before Kate Middleton was one step closer to becoming Queen of England, she was already an unrivaled queen of style.
In fact, each of Kate’s looks has always garnered the approval of the world, including the most observant of fashionistas. And yet there is one outfit loved by most, among others, that the Princess of Wales regrets in hindsight.
It’s a look worn during an informal but important event, and more specifically dating back to Christmas three years ago, the last time the whole family got together.
Kate Middleton: The look she shouldn’t have worn
While the world is still enchanted by the gorgeous green hope dress Kate Middleton wore to the green carpet of the 2022 Earthshot Prize Awards in Boston, news is pouring in from across the Channel the future Queen of England is not at all proud one of his looks worn in recent years.
According to sources close to Kate, the Princess of Wales (and Queen of Style) recently openly admitted that she regrets one of her outfits.
The look Kate wouldn’t have worn in hindsight It is that of Christmas 2019 and specifically the one he wore during the usual December 25 walk that the royal family takes to the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena in Sandringham.
On this occasion, Kate wore a gray coat by Catherine Walker and a matching forest green hat with pocket and heels. In terms of color, the look was coordinated with that of little Charlotte in total green.
But what was wrong with this Kate outfit? The Mirror reported on a comment Kate made to a young fan saying the look was way too hot and heavy for a sunny morning like December 25, 2019.
In fact, it can be seen from the photos that on this occasion the sun was shining from the sky and that, except for Kate, everyone was wearing coats, which were quite light for the time. But Kate’s, and we can all agree on that, is anyway a forgivable stylistic error.
Christmas 2022: what will Kate look like?
The Royals of England haven’t spent Christmas together in three years and failed to uphold family traditions thanks to the pandemic that has engulfed the entire planet.
The last canonical Christmas for the Windsors was actually that of 2019, however this year everything will be back to normal and we’re sure Middleton will be paying special attention to her Christmas look, which could always go green, just to be sorry the (very small) fall in fashion three years ago.
What is certain is that this Christmas will be very special for the royal family and therefore it will be very important for the future queen to leave her mark. Christmas 2022 will indeed be Queen Elizabeth’s first orphan and Charles’ first as King.
Indeed, the new King’s first Christmas speech is being eagerly awaited by the whole world, pre-taped as usual but broadcast on December 25th at around 3pm (UK time). This year, the family will likely enjoy the after-lunch moment together, although it’s almost certain Meghan and Harry won’t be there.
