A man died at Disneyland Saturday night after jumping to his death from the Mickey and Friends parking garage.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. and resulted in the park’s streetcar service being halted as police responded to the scene. A spokesman for the Anaheim Fire Department told that the victim did not visit the theme park before the jump.
Parkgoers on social media saw police place the body under a tarpaulin as they returned to their cars from the park. Some spectators apparently watched the victim fall.
“My daughter just witnessed a man commit suicide at Disneyland along with other families with children,” one person wrote on Twitter. “It’s traumatizing.”
“Leaving Disneyland and [cast members] were all over the park structures diverting guests and blocking some areas,” added another park visitor on Saturday. “Someone jumped/fell from the Mickey & Friends parking garage and the body was covered with a tarp. Really sad and surreal.’
A photo showed a white lightweight hovering over the body while police investigated nearby.
Police have not identified the man’s body and no further information has been released.

People on social media spoke out about the tragedy, including a devastated tram driver.
“I’m a tram driver at Disneyland,” Matthew Beverleh wrote on Twitter. “It was so hard for us and everyone tonight. I feel sorry for him and his family… Nobody deserves to see this, but mental health is a real problem. Please check on your family.’
Others observed that the victim was going through a mental health crisis and warned people to be aware of their loved ones who could potentially commit suicide.
“Someone just jumped off a building at Disneyland and died,” one person wrote. This is really so awful. I really hope that you are at peace now and not feeling any pain. And I really hope those who lived through it get the help they need to get through such a horrific experience.
‘[To] the man who committed suicide at Disneyland yesterday,” added another person. “I’m sorry you thought that was the only way out.”
“So sad what happened in the Disneyland parking garage. If you or someone you know needs help, call the national hotline, dial 988. Check your friends and family.’
Meanwhile, some urged those struggling with suicidal thoughts to get help.
“After hearing what happened at Disneyland tonight please know that you are loved and cared for,” Landon Ashmore wrote on Twitter. “If you ever feel like you are struggling or alone, please try reaching out to a friend, family or loved one. Know that you are never alone.”

The Disneyland suicide case came more than a week after the unexpected death of TikTok star Megha Thakur at the age of 21, after dealing with suicidal thoughts and a recent heart attack caused by anxiety just four months before her death.
Thakur, of Ontario, Canada, passed away in the early hours of November 24th.
She recently revealed that she suffered a heart attack in July, believed to be caused by stress and her ongoing anxiety.
Thakur began posting on TikTok in 2019, focusing content on body positivity and confidence, but admitted in October 2020 that she had been “depressed for years” before building the confidence people know and love her for.
“I was depressed for years. It was horrible, I didn’t want to be alive and almost lost my life,” she revealed in the October 2020 Post.
“Too many people choose suicide over recovery because mental health awareness is not at all where it should be.
“You need to look for ways to improve your mental health literacy skills to help yourself and others — no matter how much you think you already know.
“It may be World Mental Health Day, but today won’t be the only day I speak about it. Remember to take care of yourself too. You are important.’
Her cause of death was not disclosed.
