The Wild wins a crazy game

Quebec’s Frédérick Gaudreau saved the Minnesota Wild from disaster by scoring the decisive goal in a penalty shootout to end a wild game that ended 6-5 against the Stars in Dallas on Sunday.

This victory will certainly have a comical aftertaste for the guests, who gambled away a four-goal advantage in the third period. Roope Hintz gave them a headache with his second career hat-trick and four points.

Joe Pavelski (three assists) and Mason Marchment (one goal, one assist) contributed, as did Jason Robertson (one goal, one assist), who scored at least a point in his 18th straight game.

The Anaheim Ducks ended a four-game road trip with a fourth loss in Winnipeg. This time, they slipped a two-goal lead to fall 5-2 against the Jets.

The California club led 2-0 at halftime thanks to Jakob Silfverberg and Brett Leason. The Jets then opened the machine and scored five unanswered goals.
