Judge Richard Meredith of the Quebec Court of Justice is expected to render a verdict Monday at the Gatineau courthouse.

Remember that Major General Dany Fortin was accused of sexual assault in connection with events alleged to have taken place in 1988 at the Royal Military College Saint-Jean in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. The complainant is said to have been another student attending the facility at the time.

At the time of the charges, in the summer of 2021, the soldier was a regular on television as he was the leader of the government’s vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in the country.

Dany Fortin was released from his responsibility immediately after the allegation became known.

The headmaster concerned, who has always denied the facts alleged against him, then initiated court proceedings to regain his job. However, the federal court denied his request.

Hearings in Dany Fortin’s trial ended on October 25 with the prosecutor’s final argument.
