Last Saturday (3/12) during the release of the documentary Eu by Ludmila Dayer, responsible for directing and producing, Anitta said that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Best known as EpsteinBarr mononucleosis virus (EBV), the virus is also linked to an increased risk of seven other diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), multiple sclerosis (MS) and type 2 diabetes.
The star revealed she was diagnosed with the disease two months ago and how important her relationship with Ludmila has been to her recovery.
“When we started all this contact and the results came out, I had the same virus as Ludmila in the initial stages. Nowadays there is no more coincidence. Ludmila came. She was a blessing in my life and just a joy. One thing she said is that we are much more sensitive to noticing people who are on the same path. People only go in their moment, in their time,” said Anita.
Elsewhere, she spoke about her struggles and fear of not being able to continue her presentations.
“I wasn’t able to sing, to breathe. For me yesterday was a celebration, we celebrated because I didn’t know if I could sing and dance the whole show, it was a big mystery, but I went, I could sing and dance. It took a little more breath work and I managed to do the show,” he shared.
The documentary Eu also features the special involvement of Fernanda Souza, Ludmilla’s firstperson narrative and interviews with neuroscientists, therapists, constellators and psychiatrists. The journey is told in chapters and presents intimate accounts from the director. Anitta debuted as an associate producer on the feature film.
