Panicking, Kim Kardashian edited out certain jokes about her divorce from Kanye West from her Saturday Night Live monologue, it turns out.
In the second episode of The Kardashians, the 41-year-old reality star was preparing for the show, which aired last October, where she read unheard lines from the script.
One joke that didn’t make it into the final version was Kanye, played by Chris Redd, who asked Kim – who was studying for the bar – to be his attorney on their divorce.

Kanye’s cutline read, “Ok fine you can divorce me but I need a lawyer will you be my legal family?”
Kim would then have replied: ‘No Kanye!’ to which he would have replied, ‘Fine and you won’t get a dime, I have the prenup right here!’
During rehearsals the day before the show, Kim spoke to producers about editing jokes, saying, “I’m always scared of hurting people’s feelings.

“I would never go in there and make fun of anyone, especially the father of my children. Just because we didn’t work out doesn’t mean we don’t have great love and respect for each other.
She added: “Divorce is so tricky for him and I say quite a bit in the monologue so I don’t want to put it down. Maybe I can talk to Chris (Redd) and make it more fun since it’s super touchy for him.
“I know he wants to be a part of it, but let’s be careful.”

SNL producer Lindsay Shookus then told Kim, “It’s not uncommon for us to make line changes so we can sort them out before night.”
It’s possible that the sketch in question was The People’s Kourt, in which Kim posed as sister Kourtney Kardashian and ran her family’s affairs.
While Chris impersonated Kanye, there was no mention of the divorce in this part.
Instead, the SNL writers poked fun at some of Kanye’s more memorable tweets.

However, in her opening monologue, Kim spoke about Kanye, saying, “I married the greatest rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest black man in America.
“A talented true genius who gave me four incredible children. So when I divorced him, you had to know that one thing mattered: his personality.”
Kim shares children North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, two, with Kanye, from whom she filed for divorce in February 2021.
Kim is now dating SNL star Pete Davidson while Kim was recently spotted with Kim lookalike Chaney Jones.
Elsewhere in episode 2, Kim learns of the possibility of new footage of her infamous sextape being released and threatens to “burn them all down”.
Kim found out about the potential leak of a new sex tape when her son Saint, six, spotted an ad for new footage while playing the online game Roblox during the premiere and taped the second episode right after, as she taped her celebrity lawyer, Marty Singer asks how to deal with it.
She needs to put those distractions behind her as she prepares for her hosting debut at SNL, and while in New York City, Khloe is battling anxiety ahead of an interview with James Corden.
In other scenes, Travis Barker reveals his plans to propose to Kourtney.
Concerns: She added, “Divorce is so tricky for him and I say a lot in the monologue so I don’t want to put it down.”
