This 12-mile (19 km) bridge was shelled on October 8 in an attack Russia says was carried out by Ukraine.
The Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Crimean Bridge and personally drove a car across this bridge connecting southern Russia with the annexed peninsula of Crimea, reports Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency.

The 19 km long road and railway bridge, which was opened personally by Putin in 2018, was bombed on October 8th in an attack Russia says was carried out by Ukraine. According to RIA, the damaged part of the bridge has now been restored thanks to the work of 500 people.
