Rio Actress Helena Xavier died this Monday at the age of 92, according to the artist’s son, soap opera writer Tiago Santiago. The veteran died of natural causes at her home, and her legacy was celebrated by the heir in a post on Instagram.
A graduate of the Fundação Brasileira de Teatro, Helena has had a long career in theater and television. The actress took part in the series “Caso Especial” on TV Globo and is known for her roles as Simone in the soap operas “Mutantes” and “Caminhos do Coração” and as Baroness Eugênia in “Escrava Isaura” (2004). all in Record TV.
The actress is survived by Tiago and two other children, Gerardo and Basilio Santiago, and a grandson, João Lucas. “Excellent mother and grandmother, dear to all who had the privilege of knowing her, she is now back in the house of creation, in the bosom of the creator. Love forever, mother! Wherever you have gone, one day I will too do,” he explained to Tiago. Helena is also the great aunt of actors Ricky Tavares, Juliana Xavier and Dharck Tavares.
“And today the sky gets another beautiful star. Incredible actress, wonderful teacher. Thanks to her I love what I do today. Thank you for so much Aunt. May God welcome you with open arms. Love you forever” said Ricky in a post in Stories.
