Nancy Meyers puts an end to ‘The Holiday’ rumours.
On Wednesday, the filmmaker took to Instagram and shared a screenshot of a report claiming Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet would reprise their roles in a sequel to The Holiday.
“So many DMs about this – sorry but it’s not true,” Meyers wrote, adding a red heart.
Fans flocked to Meyer’s comments section and shared their disappointment with the news.
“Oh my god I wanted this for Christmas,” wrote one user. Another added: “But it sounds like you should make it true!”

The filmmaker’s post comes just days after the performance of The Holiday in Concert in London, where a live orchestra accompanied the holiday film. Meyers shared on Instagram that she couldn’t attend, but “I wish I could be there!”

Winslet also shut down rumors of a sequel film.
“I’ve read about it, but it’s the first time I’m hearing about it,” Winslet said in a statement to People magazine.

“I promise you no agent or representative or anyone has spoken to me about this since the beginning. Hand on heart, that never came up,” she concluded.
Diaz did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
“The Holiday” featured two women – Winslet and Diaz – who decide to swap houses over the holidays in order to overcome previous romances. Winslet takes on the role of Iris, who eventually falls in love with Miles, played by Jack Black.

Diaz portrays Amanda, a movie trailer producer who falls in love with Iris’ brother Graham, played by Jude Law.

The 2006 film grossed $63 million domestically and $205 million worldwide at the box office, according to Box Office Mojo. The website also said the film had a budget of $85 million.
