India: Rescuers are struggling to save an eight-year-old boy who fell down a well in the central state of India Madhya Pradesh. The small Tammy Sahu has been hovering between life and death for the past sixteen hours: that is, he has fallen while playing since last night and at a depth of about 17 meterssubmerged in mud. Unfortunately, accidents of this kind are common in the Indian countryside, where artesian wells are plentiful: as they are often left uncovered, they pose a serious risk to children. Rescuers are currently tending to Tammyoxygen. However, it was not possible to determine his condition.
