The Trudel brothers buy the Dorchester block

The Trudel brothers just bought the Dorchester block for $6 million.

Businessmen acquired the land between Dorchester, Sainte-Hélène, Caron and Saint-Vallier Est streets.

According to Jonathan Trudel, the current appeal will not be changed for the time being. Analysis is currently underway to determine which project would be best for this important location.

The Trudel brothers had been parking space managers for two years. In the immediate future, ongoing operations will not be jeopardized for users.

Strategic location

“It allowed us to start discussions before going through with the acquisition. We are unable to answer what the project will be. Several analyzes must be carried out to find the best use. We bought the land because it is a very strategic location. This is high potential land,” said Mr. Trudel, Executive Vice-President of Trudel Corporation.

The latter gave no timeframe for announcing a decision. However, this acquisition means that the Dorchester block will undergo a transformation in the medium or long term.

According to him, private or commercial use is possible according to the regulations in force in Quebec (PPU). “There are already regulatory instruments that allow development in this area,” he said.

Other planning

In the real estate world, new parameters have entered the thinking of businessmen, in particular the rise in interest rates, inflation, the availability of materials and labor. All of these features are planned long before the implementation of several major regional projects.

The Trudel Group will also start the project to revitalize the Fleur de Lys site next January, with the aim of welcoming the very first residents in early 2025.

Jonathan Trudel confirmed in the last few days that the implementation phase would start shortly. In the first days of 2023, the official construction site for the first residential buildings in Fleur de Lys will open.
