Three of June Brown’s children will appear at EastEnders for their character Dot Cotton’s funeral.
According to The Sun, show boss Chris Kershaw opened up about how June’s children, Sophie, Nim and Billy, asked to be on the emotional scene.
The special, which will be extended to 37 minutes and will reportedly feature a slightly different theme song, will air on Monday 12 December.

June, who died in April this year aged 95, was also a mother to daughters Louise and Chloe with her husband Richard Arnold who died in 2003.
In her final scenes on the BBC series, Dot left a voicemail to say she was going to Ireland to visit her grandson, Charlie.
EastEnders executive producer Chris told the publication that June didn’t want Dot killed while she was alive.
He said: “She obviously knew it was the right thing to do when she left us.

“After a while we couldn’t put it off much longer. We spoke to June’s family, who knew it was what they wanted.”
He added: “June’s children, Nim, Sophie and Billy, knew what EastEnders meant to their mother so much that they asked to attend Dot’s funeral to say their goodbyes.”
Actress Milly Zero, who plays Dot’s granddaughter Dotty, previously told the publication that the cast cried “real tears” filming the scenes as they got together for the incredible funeral episode.

She said: “It was such an emotional day. We cried real tears during filming because it really is such a beautiful tribute to her. There are elements of the episode that will make you laugh.
“June was always a bit mischievous on set and often changed the words of the script, but that’s just the way it was.
“She would have loved to see us all get together for the episode. I’m so proud to play her granddaughter, it really is a dream role. We will always miss her.”
EastEnders confirmed the full lineup of the former stars who returned to Walford for the funeral last month.

The BBC soap revealed six actors will reprise their roles for the special tribute episode, which sees Albert Square residents say their final goodbyes to their beloved laundromat worker.
Among the returnees are Jacqueline Jossa, who played Dot’s granddaughter Lauren Branning and said it was a breeze to return, and Tom Watt, who portrayed George “Lofty” Holloway.
Colin Russell (Lord Michael Cashman CBE), Barry Clark (Gary Hailes), Mary ‘the punk’ Smith (Linda Davidson) and Disa O’Brien (Jan Graveson) complete the line-up of returning actors.
