Ruth alleges in the lawsuit that after he drank the “juice,” Carter took her to the bathroom on the bus and ordered her to perform oral sex on him. He then allegedly took her to a bed in the back of the bus and continued to sexually assault her when she asked him to stop.

“Even though I’m autistic and living with cerebral palsy, I don’t think anything has affected me more or had a more profound impact on my life,” she said. At the press conference, the artist’s wife also accused the artist of using capacitive and misogynistic terms, allegedly calling her a “tardada p*tinha” and saying that nobody would believe her. Ruth said that shortly after the trauma, she started selfharm. “I felt like I had nowhere to go, no way to express my feelings, pain and confusion other than hurting myself. And I really believed that if I told anyone I would go to jail.”
Ruth also claims she was a virgin at the time and contracted HPV after her encounter. Ruth’s attorney, Mark J. Boskovich, also stepped in to support his client. This isn’t the first time the singer has been accused of sexual misconduct. In 2017, Melissa Schuman, a former member of the girl group Dream, claimed Carter sexually assaulted her when she was 18 and he was 22. “I told him I was a virgin and didn’t want to have sex,” Melissa wrote in a post for Time. “I told him I was saving myself for my future husband.
