BTS member Jin was seen in a social media shot on Monday as he prepared for his military training.

Jin, who turned 30 on December 4, is scheduled to start his military training on Tuesday, as South Korean law requires able-bodied men to serve in the military between 18 and 21 months.

Jin, who will be the band’s first singer to do military service, said of the new haircut on Korean app Weverse: “Cuter Than I Thought”.

Sungdeuk Son, the leader of the popular boy band’s musical performance, posted the picture on Instagram. He captioned the shot: “Hope you are having a healthy journey and some quality time in your life…”

The group’s label, Big Hit Music, asked fans not to visit Jin in a post on Weverse and said they would update fans on how he’s doing while he’s away.

“Jin will complete his required military time by enlisting in the army,” the company said. “Please note that we will not hold any official event on the day of his recruitment.”

It continued, “The induction ceremony is a time to be observed only by military personnel and their families. To avoid problems that may arise from overcrowding, we ask fans not to visit the site. Instead, we ask that you keep your heartwarming words of support and farewell close to your hearts.’
