‘We think it’s a good time to take a break’: Filming for BBC Two comedy ‘Inside No. 9″ will be discontinued after the start of Season 9 and the Christmas special
Filming for Inside No. BBC Two’s 9 will be canceled after the start of series 9 and the Christmas special.
The hit dark comedy series features some of Britain’s biggest names in film and television, including Sheridan Smith, the late Helen McCrory, Alison Steadman and more.
But creators Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith have decided it’s “a good time” to call it quits once filming wraps up next year.

Speaking to The Sun, Steve, 55, said: “We think it’s a good time to pause Inside No9 after we wrap up filming on the ninth series next year.”
The acting couple also created the British sitcom The League of Gentlemen, which observed the lives of strange people in the fictional town of Royston Vasey.
By reviving this comedy 15 years after it was scrapped in 2002, Steve made it clear that Inside No. 9 wasn’t quite over yet.
He then added: “We’re not saying it’s over for good.

“Eventually The League Of Gentlemen came back, but we’re not going to try to do any more episodes for now.”
They went on to say that after eight years working on the cult show BBC Two, they will instead focus on new projects.
Every episode of Inside No. 9 features a story that deals with dark themes in a mansion, dressing room or apartment – all named number nine.

The show was also previously nominated for three National Television Awards.
The Christmas special will feature Simon Callow and former Coronation Street star Shobna Gulati.
It is entitled The Bones Of St Nicholas and will be broadcast on BBC Two on Thursday 22nd December.
